I honestly can't believe it's the same actor in some ways. I thought he was amazing as Hawking and even though I was rooting for Keaton, I admit Eddie was a good choice for the top accolades.

But man was he so gloriously bad as Balem or whatever the heck he's called. I had such an amazing time watching Jupiter Ascending. It's the best worst thing I've ever seen. Almost every line out of Eddie's mouth made the audience piss themselves laughing.

I bought tickets to the 3D version and usually I go into a stadium early to sit...and so the 2D version was playing and he was continually calling Jupiter his mother and bellowing I couldn't stop laughing.

Haha there's that one scene where he suddenly goes from whispery Voldermort impression to yelling "GOOOO!" and I just cracked up.

I keep saying to people the only serious reason to see it is the 3D because it's a pretty film, and I normally don't like 3D. But if you want to have a laugh see it anyway! I was discussing it with a friend and we decided in a few years it will probably be shelved under the same heading as Flash Gordon "we know it's rubbish, but it's FUN rubbish!"

It's interesting how much hate Jupiter gets in comparison to Kingsmen: The Secret Service, which is also an adolescent teen fantasy but with guns, bespoke suits, and royal buttsex replacing the sparkle angel dog space marine.

I agree tbh. And I enjoyed both films really. They're both a load of nonsense but it's a great way to switch off your brain for a couple of hours.

I loved Jupiter, I didn't like Kingsmen so much for entirely personal gender reasons. I'm just wondering at how Kingsmen is around 75% on the tomatometer while Jupiter seems to be hovering around 25%. It makes me think that I need to treat tomatometer roughly the same way I do game reviews.

Is it bad enough to be worth watching? I mean I saw the trailers and it looks so terrible, but my heart really wants to see it because I feel this potential for endless entertainment...

It is literally no worse than half the cheesy movies we get lately, people are honestly overreacting as to how "bad" it is.

I highly recommend seeing it, it's a lot of fun
