I know he's definitely described in the book as not being skinny, but I can't remember any definite mention of how un/attractive he was otherwise.

Unless you're implying that being pudgy automatically means someone isn't good looking.

The only hint of his body type is when his hands are described as plump, but that's not really a good indicator of actual size because I know a lot of skinny people with plump hands and a few heavier people with somewhat bony or average hands. The chubby thing would go with the whole angelic cherub thing that a lot of people imagine with Aziraphale though and it's a headcanon I like. I think people have room to interpret his appearance differently though

True enough (as someone who's heavier with pretty skinny fingers). IIRC we get more description of his clothes and his demeanor than we do of him physically.

I just find it bizarre that people manage to go from 'plump hands' to 'canonically unattractive and therefore it's a moral offence to depict him as so'.

It just smacks of automatically equating 'plump' with 'unattractive'.

Yeah, that's a fair point. I agree that men can definitely be chubby and attractive at the same time and I figured that Aziraphale would at least be moderately attractive since he's, you know, an actual angel.

Considering how long he's been blending in with humans, I suspect he'd probably be on the pleasing side of average. Anything to far either way and it would draw too much attention, which wouldn't fit in with his personality. So not a supermodel, but certainly not ugly either. Ordinarily nice, I guess?
