I would never say I wish I hadn't gotten into it at ALL, because it literally changed my life and is how I know some of the most important people in it, but I wish I hadn't gotten into Harry Potter fandom as hard as I did sometimes. As much as I bitched about not having a social life in high school, I think I used the fandom as a social crutch, and in college... well, had I worked as hard in certain classes as I did in memes and fests, I probably would've done better at first.

I guess I just wish I'd found the balance between "this is an awesome fandom and a lot of fun" and "...but the real world matters too."
