RP. My god, what a time-suck. If there's a way to RP without becoming emotionally invested in the characters, I never found it. And in every game I was involved in, every time a couple broke up, we knew there was behind-the-scenes wank that had the potential to turn into a full-on flame war complete with rabid dogs just waiting to tear off their pound of flesh.

Never again.

I used to have a friend who was constantly getting stressed about RP, like to really bad levels and I'd always wondered why they didn't just quit. Hobbies are not supposed to make you feel THAT bad.

Like I know RPs have drama, I was in them myself but I never stuck around long enough for it to be something that gave me serious anxiety. I think when your for fun things stop being fun it's time to leave.

This is why I purely RP one-on-one with friends now. All the emotional investment, none of the hella wank. And total control over what happens to whom!
