I suspect it may not be a troll, given that the secret seems to be written by an ESL writer and IME Europeans -- particularly central and eastern Europe -- are way more racist and homophobic than even the worst weirdoes in the US could dream of.

Eastern yes, but central Europe and the US are about equal when it comes to racism and especially homophobia - depending on the areas you want to compare, the US has a much, much bigger problem with those.

That model only really works if we exclude Poland.

A lot of people would count Poland as Eastern European, though. Depending on mentality, Polish people consider themselves either Central or Eastern European.

Most of the Polish people I've met consider it central, so I go with central. It's an edge case, though.

I think it's also a matter of perspective. A lot of people from Central European countries who like to think of themselves as more open minded tend to consider Poland Eastern European based on mentality.

/me from germany, and that's where we draw the racism-line. It's no wonder Pegida originated in Dresden. Sure, there are Nazis in western germany, too, but it's VASTLY more in the east.

Everything depends on the area, but I can say first hand that central Europe is EXTREMELY racist. More than a lot of areas in the US, especially if you look Indian or Pakistani. Heaven forbid you're a Muslim.

Yeah, that's why they get shot by the police all the time in central Europe, this would never happen in the US!
(I actually agree that racism, especially towards Muslim people is a problem in Europe, but it'seems definitely not worse than in the US. About equal, I'd wager, and towards different ethnic groups.)

Considering they didn't seem to notice they missed a sentence yeah I think its safe to say they didn't try. Unless that's part of their game to make people notice them!
