Who are your favorite actors that are always minor (or "That guy!") actors??

My all time favorite is Peter Stormare. When he is in a movie, I know I have at least something to look forward to (no matter how terrible the movie). He was the highlight of that terrible Brothers Grimm movie for me.

Another one I love is Keith David. His voice is amazing and makes him instantly recognizable (as anyone who loves the Gargoyles knows).

I love minor characters, though I don't follow actors very much. But I am always happy to see the actors who play minor characters in more stuff.

One actor that comes to mind is Jonathan LaPaglia. I like a lot of the roles he's in.

Looks like he will be a main character in that TV show The Slap. So you got that to look forward to (if it does well).

Wow, I have so many. And because my brain isn't what it used to be I can't think of any right now :( I do like both guys that you mentioned though.

STEPHEN ROOT!! I feel like he pops up in every TV I watch at some point (most recently last night's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," but he's been a recurring character there since last fall so it wasn't a huge surprise). He always amuses me.

Ah! He was in Office Space! He is so damn recognizable.

Jimmy James! He's the best.

I fucking love Keith David. I was so excited to see him in Enlisted a little while back

I loved him in the Riddick series. He is so fantastic.

Does Mark Sheppard still count as 'minor'? I affectionately refer to him as 'my personal celebrity stalker,' because pretty much every time I start getting interested in a show he pops up on it.

Yeah because he is never a main character! Well, as far as I know.

Harry Dean Stanton is the all-time That Guy for me. He's so good.

Definitely agree with Keith David as well, he's been in so many things.

Harry Dean Stanton is odd for me. I know his name really well. Only know his face a little. And can't remember where I saw him from!

James Ransone! He's a really good actor, but he never seems to land anything in the leading role category, and he hasn't really broken into the Hollywood "scene" yet. I'm hoping he does, because he truly deserves it.

Jared Harris does have a few lead roles to his credit, but he's almost always a minor character or a supporting character in an ensemble. If he's a recurring minor character, he's probably going to get killed off. Unfortunately. But he's great at it. He had one of the most memorable death scenes I've ever seen in a project that will go unnamed (because it's a spoiler), and was killed twice in a different show.

I always like seeing him turn up in small roles, but think he deserves bigger and better. I'd love to see him turn up in Game of Thrones (Jon Connington, maybe?).

I was initially going to suggest Zeljko Ivanek because I always notice him in small film/guest tv roles, but I was just looking at his imdb page and holy crap does he have a ton of recurring/regular tv credits. 9 shows with 10+ episodes, several more with 5 ep. credits. Mad respect.

I may have a crush on Thure Lindhardt, who played Chartrand in Angels and Demons. I've never seen his other films, but I liked him in that one.
