And this is why I avoid romcoms like the plague, even when people say it's cute. 90% of relationships in them seems completely fucked up to me.

I actually like this in the context that the relationship is meant to be fucked up or between two fucked up people, like yandere etc... Does it count as romatic?

I don't think that counts as romantic so much as... well, like you said, kind of messed up. And sure, it works in that context, but too often it's played out like something that's perfectly healthy in the "heat of the moment" and just like "lol he/she was just being passionate" when it's really, really not.
