For me it's the one who hold themselves above everyone because they've read all kinds of old books by Bronte and Austen.

No, because both are inferior writers. They tell instead of showing, which is really annoying to read.

You cannot judge the writing of that era by the standards of ours. This argument is as silly as saying that Austen is anti-feminist because her books focus so much on how the status of women is tied to marriage. You may not like Austen's style, but that doesn't make her an inferior writer.

Except that "show, don't tell: telling is bad writing" is a piece of crappy advice that has been enshrined as a fetish. It is not the touchstone of good writing, and people who think it is are really annoying.
