These. It's not even that they're bad, it's that they're incredibly boring. If all you're gonna give me is a movie novelisation with some names and the occasional pronoun switched around, no characterisation changes or anything, I'm just gonna save my time, close the fic, and rewatch the damned movie instead.

Maybe I'm weird but sometimes I actually like those stories. They're never really good or engrossing, but when I'm tired I like to turn my brain off and go read something that only requires me to be minimally engaged. That stuff fits the bill nicely.
