No? I actually have a hard time believing that the stories are set in our world, but witches, ghosts, and aliens are all supposed to exist. One I can buy, but all of them at once? Ridiculous.

But that's silly. Most people who believe in one believe in all three, and hold a worldview that allows for them all to exist simultaneously in our world. And I mean, if we're bringing the supernatural into it, there isn't really anything that would prevent all three from existing at the same time. What do you think would stop witches from being in a world with ghosts, or aliens from being in a world with witches? What's so fundamentally different about them that if there was one, there couldn't be one of the others?

It bothers me from a story telling standpoint, where they just keep tacking more and more things into the show. I'm supposed to just accept an entire season with ghosts, no mention of anything else in the supernatural canon, and they can just add things whenever they feel like it? It feels really weak, and like overkill.

You're looking at this way too logically. Most people don't think that way. They'll accept witches after a season of ghosts because witches are supernatural, and they've already been primed to expect the supernatural, which to them is a single broad category rather than an umbrella term for a bunch of smaller categories. Storytelling is about the audience, too, and this show is aimed at an audience that doesn't look at things the way you do.

Maybe Aliens are the odd ones out but if a setting has a spirituality system that allows ghosts then there's a spirituality system that could accommodate witches, and viceversa.

Anyways if you believe one can exist in an universe you can't really get on a high horse about the others.

idk, it seems logical enough* to me that the first season only has ghosts because it's mostly concerned with a particular haunted house--there's no reason for witches or aliens to be hanging out there out of all the places they could be.

*in so much as logical is a word that can even apply to the show
