It's Booker and Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite. If you want to read fic with these two I'd say research them first because there's a certain squick that OP didn't mention (that's a major spoiler so I don't want to spell it out here) associated with this pairing. (It doesn't bother me, but might bother you.)

I see you've already been told, but yea, Booker and Elizabeth are father and daughter. They go most of the game not realizing it, and a lot of people (including me!) were already shipping them together by the time we found out.

Haha, oops...I'm in the midst of playing this game & I just read the spoiler. IDK what the thinking was by the game designers but their relationship *definitely* comes across as flirtatious. The hell, BioShock?

A lot of things got changed in the last 6 months of development, so there's speculation they weren't originally supposed to be related. Also, Ken Levine didn't let the voice actors know any of the plot twists ahead of time. He wanted them to develop the relationship "naturally." So Troy Baker and Courtnee Draper started playing it like a budding romance, because that's what they thought it was, and I guess Levine just didn't bother to stop them.

Draper apparently had a huge freak-out the day of the reveal.

It was a *very reasonable* conclusion for them to draw. Though there is a point when Booker is looking for E and refers to her as a 'young girl' that made me wonder if I was reading it wrong/ if she was supposed to be younger than her avatar looked.

Oh no...that's why I didn't want to mention spoilers here. Sorry! It was a great reveal too... (Though fucked up and kind of frustrating for previously mentioned reasons, haha.)

I hadn't heard what anon said about the cast not being told the plot twist until the recording, but that changes things quite a bit! To me the Booker/Elizabeth relationship always felt like it was moving into romantic territory, and when the game pulled out the father/daughter thing I was flabbergasted. If TPTB wanted Booker and Elizabeth to feel like family before that point in the game, they failed.

Despite not seeing it myself, I believe what anon said; Levine probably didn't care if the two came off as flirty or interested. Why idk (maybe he wanted us to be disgusted with ourselves? lmao), but it leaves one with a weird view of those scenes.

Maybe you've already seen anon's answer, but Booker is Elizabeth's father. You don't find out till near the end of the game and there's some time travel shit involved so it's sort of complicated, but it was a major surprise for me. Here I was hoping they would run off to France and get married, and he's her father.

By the time I found out I was already shipping them hardcore, so I just decided not to care. lmao.

...Do you have recs you could share? I adored their relationship and not even that plot twist could stop me.

Welll, I'm not OP, but...there's still really not that much out there. :-/ It's the main reason I started writing my own.

Buuuut, there is Jig of Life, which has...weird formatting in the first couple of chapters, but is really beautifully written.

I also really like Relative Happiness, although it's a sad, Burial at Sea!Elizabeth losing her mind kind of fic.

Text: The reason I’m still shipping this is because I like to self-insert as the innocent sheltered young woman who is shown the ways of sex by a much older experienced man. I guess I could do this with some other pairing, but this is the one that won.

I think it’s because of the taboo. It just makes it better. I don’t do none of that canon altering crap and I hate when people do. Just embrace it.
