When I was in a swimming race (at school) and thought I'd finished because the guy in front of me had. I went to get out of the pool and the teacher physically PUSHED me back in, turned out I had 2 lengths left to go. It doesn't even seem that bad now, but this haunted me well into early adulthood.

No, not really. That's the kind of thing good coaches do. Your athlete is running the wrong way at the field line, you stick your arm out and clothesline them.

I can believe this is a thing coaches do, but I wouldn't consider this good coaching.
