I tried to stick with it weekly after the timeskip, and I had to give up about halfway through Fishman Island because it dragged so badly. It's still a great story with great characters, but has even less focus than it did before the skip, and I just couldn't keep up with every single fucking minor character having a detailed backstory and arc of their own that the plot had to stop and zoom in on every other chapter. Now I just check the wiki for updates on the main characters I actually care about. Law's stuff is really interesting, I wish I could stand the other 90% of bullshit going on around it to keep reading.

And it's definitely gotten more bizarre towards the female characters. It's shounen so it was never the best, but it's much worse since Nami and Robin were such badasses in their character arcs.
