It's the leaving crit for the author on the fic that weirds me out tbh, like writing it up and discussing it in class is fine, that's what the class is for. But sending it to the author? I don't get why that'd be necessary.

I don't quite get the whole 'organised fandom' either, like fandom is fandom? It just is to me and anyone can come and go into it as they please? It's not like you'd be able to tell if someone 'outside' the fandom sphere read your fic unless they actually commented saying so(and even then it's not as if they aren't allowed to comment just because they're not in fandom).
