I was in the same situation job-wise in terms of small business no HR. I'm straight, but I do not live with my bf and we do not want kids. Once during lunch they pretty much literally cornered me bout the kids thing. Pretty much every bingo in the book.

"oh, but what if you meet a man and he's the love of your lie and wants kids!"
"But what if you regret it"
"Aren't you scared of growing old alone!".

Bonus: this was also when they learned how old I was (boss knew, but coworkers didn't) - which was older than they had estimated me. Which was then followed by "Oh, you don't have much time left!"

Yeah, thanks for calling me old at 31.

Assholes owe me money still.

I'm probably more or less straight, I guess (I'm not entirely sure but for the most part I'm pretty much over worrying about labels) but not particularly interested in a relationship right now...people can be awful about it, and just won't let up sometimes. It's the same way with the kid thing - I'm open to marriage someday, maybe, but I know for a fact that I don't want kids and it's like people just can't comprehend that. I actually had one guy tell me that it wasn't fair, if he had to suffer by having kids I should too.

I just really don't get why people care so much. Like, it would never occur to me to give a damn whether someone else is in a relationship or married (or what gender their partner is) or if they have kids or want them. It just seems so strange to me.
