Welp, I liked the ending and I'm excited to drink more of the tears of everyone who hated it.

I liked the pairings. I shipped Matt/Sora since season 1, because of the cave scene and the part where Matt told Tai to lay off Sora for crying. I liked Yolei/Ken because for once it was "geeky girl gets hot guy she has a crush on" instead of the way too typical gender-reversed version. I liked that TK/Kari didn't happen because they bored and annoyed me. I liked that nobody had a predictable job, because it was realistic - almost nobody really ends up interested in the same things as when they're a kid. I especially liked Sora's job because And I was just happy that the ending confirmed that everyone got to live happily ever after because I'm a simple sap like that.

Oops, part got deleted. I was going to say I especially liked Sora's job because it pissed people off but made me feel validated for being the same way, a girl who used to not care about fashion but then started to love it.

I never shipped the pairings that ended up canon in the end (but then, I ship primarily femslash), but I liked the ending for some of the same reasons -- especially that the way people ended up wasn't predictable. I mean, who really knows how their life is going to end up when they're twelve or so? Some people, but not many. I was especially put off by the people who said that Yamato *had* to end up as a rock star. Just because you've got a fairly popular garage band as a teenager doesn't mean that's what you want to do with your whole life...

I liked parts of it too, though it always seemed odd to me that the dub didn't come out and say that Matt and Sora are married, when it's obvious that they have two kids together.
