If you're using ebay, then browse around for similar listings to the things you want to sell, and see what they're selling for -- and see if they're selling at all, or if there's very little interest. I haven't used it for a while, but you used to be able to search for completed listings, which is sometimes more useful than active listings.

It's also a good idea to have a rough idea of the minimum you'd accept for each item. Comparing other auctions lets you see if that's realistic. If you still want more than your items sell for on Ebay, then maybe hunt around for a more specialist site, or try selling your items directly if you have a blog/LJ/Tumblr. I don't even bother with Ebay now for any fandom merch, I sell direct through my Tumblr instead.
