I think you may be overreacting, OP. I do like your rubber duckies though!

I think Gervais is funny-ish though he does have his problems (like pretty much every comedian, in my experience). Not sure what he's done to make him a "douchey atheist" though. Sometimes I feel like atheist aren't even allowed to talk about atheism without immediately being labeled douchebags.

He did "The Invention of Lying", which many religious people found offensive. Haven't seen it so can't comment, but that's where that's coming from.

It... depends. There are some believers who will automatically do that. On the other hand, I think most Christians distinguish between, say, Richard Dawkins, whose critique of religion tends to devolve into straw-manning and attacking a version of faith that very few people actually hold, and is just generally a bit of a dick at times, and someone like Terry Pratchett, who talked about atheism and was at times very critical of religion, but in a much more nuanced and intelligent way. And, crucially, wasn't an arrogant dick. Which is why you fairly frequently here hear atheists say that they're embarrassed by Dawkins, but the same isn't true of Pterry....
