Cruella De Vil is what did it for me. This season sucks.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-15 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I'm about to give up, or at least make it Netflix viewing. There's just nothing about is current arc that interests me. :(

I can't stop. Although I'm not loving this season half so far. I did love the Frozen half It seems like I usually only end up loving about half a season. It was the same last season where I hated the Peter Pan part but loved the Wizard of Oz part (even if the book fan in me was wincing, I can somehow take it from Once which does its own thing with everything).

Haven't watched in a while, but the commercials confuse me. Why throw so many villains in at once? Seems like a perfect way to juggle too many plotlines.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-15 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
OUAT was probably the earliest I quit a show too (not even halfway through S2 for me). All the wasted potential and hearing how much worse they keep making it is still so disappointing. Especially since I loved S1 so much (at the time.)

(Anonymous) 2015-03-15 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Watching OUAT is like watching a fifty vehicle pileup. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. At this point, I fast forward through everything but Carlyle's scenes since he's the only actor they have who doesn't make me cringe with secondhand embarrassment.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-15 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I lost interest in OUAT after S2, but I did recently have moment like this with The Walking Dead. Sorry, OP; I know it's a sucky feeling, especially if you really enjoyed the show before it went crazy.

I got to the end of season 3 before quitting. I don't regret it.

I also refused to watch the last season of House and don't regret it. I think those two shows are the only ones I've enjoyed and given up in disgust as aposed to getting bored/not being interested and dropping it.

House I dropped, but I watched the last 4 episodes of it to see how it ended. It felt like the early seasons in those last 4 episodes...but it had to take 2 1/2 seasons to get there.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-15 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried so hard. I forced myself through 3A, forced myself through the spinoff, and felt like things were turning around after the 3A finale. I really loved OUaT and wanted to be optimistic about this dumb show.

And then Captain Swan, everything about Zelena, Neal's death, and the Frozen shoehorn did me in. I couldn't take it anymore.

Damn it.

I feel like you could make an interesting timeline with how many fans quit after which episodes re: the continuous shark jumping.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-16 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Now I'm tempted to make a line graph of the ratings...

I think this may be the point I finally give up. For some reason I always go back to it. Then again I kept saying I'd quit True Blood and I hung on until the bitter end. OUAT nearly lost me when Peter Pan's storyline turned out to be a steaming pile of disappointment. I'm not sure I can handle villain of the week (who will probably end up related to Rumple or Regina or both) anymore.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-16 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
I seem to be alone in liking both season 3 and what we've seen of season 4. Then again, I hated the first season because I thought the show was boring when no one remembered who they really were so I guess I'm doing the whole thing wrong.

Teen Wolf Season 4

[personal profile] tyger66 2015-03-16 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
yeah

(Anonymous) 2015-03-16 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
This is an interesting secret to read because in my fannish circles I'm hearing a lot of "the Frozen thing did me in but these three are so interesting I'm gonna give it another shot"

(Anonymous) 2015-03-16 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
I was bored to death by Frozen but I came back anyway and I'm finally liking the show again. It reminds me a lot more of the early show than it has in years.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-16 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
I noped out of this show the second the Frozen characters showed up. Blatant cash grab.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-16 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
I hated how it literally was just "Frozen" like they didn't even try to do a Snow Queen story and they put all the characters in the movie costumes (which looked cheap and cheesy as hell.)

Early OUAT used to at least *attempt* to take from fairytales and wasn't so blatantly a Disney cash grab.

At this point, I keep watching it for all the WTFness. It's actually compelling to watch just how badly the show is fucking itself up. I also actually liked the Frozen story line. It's obvious it was a cash grab but someone on the production actually gave a fuck about writing a good story line for the sisters and it shows. I also like how they give an explanation for why their mom just wanted Elsa to hide her gifts, because of what happened with her sisters. It makes no sense in the actual movie.

Text: I’ve heard a lot about the experience fans have where a show “jumps the shark” and they just can’t watch it anymore, but I’ve never experienced it myself.

Until this season.

4B and the spoilers upcoming for 4B are just the cherry on top of the “holy fuck I’m actually so done” cake.

I’t really weird. I’ve never actually hit that WTF-is-even happening point with a show before. I’m almost proud of OUAT just for giving me that.

That show jumped the shark for me when they purposefully killed off Neal to make way for Captain Swan. That ship is shit. srynotsry

(that actor was also significantly more attractive to me than the one who plays Hook)

I realized I didn't care about the show any more, and I took it out of my Hulu queue. There are so many other shows to watch. I might miss Hook's male beauty, but I can get over that, too.
