Eh...maybe, but it's not always a joyous story.

A (male) friend of mine had a thing with a girl who identified as lesbian. They had sex, they even had something of a relationship, but in the end she just couldn't see herself being with a man. It was sort of heartbreaking, because they genuinely cared about each other.

I'm not saying it can never work out, but love doesn't magically cute everything, either. So I'd say "proceed with caution".
