I have seen (some) people mention Katrina's race in a way that makes me uncomfortable, but honestly...I feel like a lot of people dislike her because they don't like what the writers (and to a lesser extent, the actress) did with the character.

I imagine some Ichabod/Abbie shippers hate her too (outside of just not finding her character well written or whatever), but shippers hating on characters they feel 'threaten' their ship isn't exactly a new phenomenon. Maybe race has a hand in it, but from what I've seen it isn't a massive one.

I think you're right and that there's a lot of genuine dislike for Katrina based on how she's written and ship wars.

The problem I have is that I see a lot of people who would otherwise condemn it are justifying it because Katrina is a white woman while Abbie is a black woman.

If someone who shipped Ichabod and a white male said half of the nasty things about Katrina that extremist Ichabbie shippers said, you can BET that they'd have people jumping all over that and calling them misogynists.

I think I get what you're saying, and if that's true then I agree it's wrong.

I don't have a problem with people discussing what they don't like about Katrina's character, or even how much they dislike Ichabod/Katrina as a ship, but some people go overboard with their vitriol and should move on. I don't understand why it's worth getting so worked up over or why Katrina's race should matter.
