Is this operating under "all gems are technically sexless", or do you have another reason for saying that?

The gems are clearly female-coded, present themselves as female and use female pronouns, I honestly don't get why people get their panties in a twist when they're referred to as women. They only reason they were confirmed non-binary is because there is only one gender in their species to begin with.

Rebecca Sugar herself has said that they use feminine pronouns while being sexless.

isnt it funny how the large & masc gem is the one everyone seems to be most eagerly jumping to reminding us gems "dont have gender" and most commonly refered to as "they"

Yeah. Same with Ruby getting "BUT THEY'RE GENDERLESS." Because Ruby isn't as feminine as the others.

They use female pronouns, universally. They are genderless rocks but I don't think that's some weird coincidence. Besides, something can be representative without literally being that thing.

Reminds me of the big arguments that have broken out from time to time about the role of gender in Transformers, just from the other direction. They're literally giant robots, and some of the canons have said they don't actually have genders, but the vast majority of them are written like men, voiced by men, referred to with male pronouns... Some of them even have robotic facial hair! The argument that they're genderless only seems to come up when female Transformers are getting attention...
