Oddly, I actually did just spend twenty odd minutes reading up on the Christian conversion of Ireland. I mean, I'm getting more 'trade links, Christian slave networks, evangelical preaching, and savvy political connections with converted ex-pagan kings' from it than 'fire and sword and inexplicable Christian armies', but thanks for reminding me to read up on these things again. Haven't done that since my Early Medieval Archaeology modules six years ago.
