There wasn't. Some fans were unhappy with Agent Carter, gave their reasons why, decided not to keep watching. Other fans stepped in, ignored the reasons, said EVERYONE MUST WATCH THIS SHOW and if you didn't, YOU PERSONALLY were setting back feminism. In general, fans of color were baited and treated hostilely, and the accusations keep coming of black women doing all the wrong doing and how they hate white women while giving white men a pass because masturbatory fantasies or whatevs. It's gotten too hateful to give the respect of keeping track.

The whole drama could have been avoided if white people would just let POC vent.

If white people let POC vent without complaining they were being racist at us, why, civilization might collapse or something.

No, what started it was a white fan asking people to support it because they noted that if Agent Carter did badly, Marvel wasn't going to take this as "well clearly people don't like this show because it's too white" they were (obviously) going to think "looks like people don't want female main characters."

And then POC fans jumped in and were upset at being asked to support a white show.

Both sides acted badly, but I don't think the initial point that white fans were making was wrong.
