We never see Castle actually writing. Or going on book tours. Or tearing his hair out over the latest revisions he's gotten.

Early in the run, it was implied that the book tours took place during the summer hiatus, but now we're not even getting that much. Writing? What is this writing of which you speak? The brownies I leave milk out for overnight do it!

The early episodes/seasons also implied he was procrastinating and so forth, which I can believe. But yeah, Nikki Heat seems to have been dropped, so... now what is he doing?

Ugh, fuck you, now I want brownies (of the dessert variety, not the meddlesome creatures), and I can't have them.

I also want to see Castle write. I'm a little behind, and the "Castle is a PI now!" vibe from the next episodes' blurbs is so turning me off.

I'm a little wary of Castle hilarity these days. I mean, he's always been billed as a character that was a big kid with (in the early days) a bit of bad boy varnish, and that was fine when Alexis was s till a kid, too. He was the fun dad!

But lately it just seems more like "Hi, I'm Rick, and I'm 5." But I'll take your word for it and hope.
