Oh I still like the songs. They're great. But I mostly like them because I liked them before I knew what they were about, you know?

I guess xD I speak German so I understand from the beginning but sometimes I'll just have them playing not paying attention and suddenly I'm like 'Wait, wft are you even singing about?? That's some disturbing shit!' haha

My dad was going through a fundie Christian phase when I was a teen, in which he believed (legit) that songs in other languages were implicit contracts with Satan for your soul. (I can't make this shit up.) I was listening to Rammstein while doing housework, and he came home early. Now, what you need to understand is that my dad is semi-fluent in German. He'd have definitely been able to make out enough of the lyrics to be WTF. IIRC the song on was one of the more disturbing ones off Mutter.

But, no, it wasn't the lyrics. It was that it was in another language, one that he KNEW. I don't even.

Mind this was about fifteen years ago, but I believe so. I'd looked up the English translations, so I knew what the songs were about... which is why I was so boggled that it wasn't the lyrics. I opted instead to let him go on about his "foreign language music is Satan" BS than enlighten him (on the offchance his German was rusty and he didn't recognize enough) what the translated lyrics actually were.

No fuss about blaring Marilyn Manson, though. My dad makes no sense.
