Sorry not everyone sucks your dick and calls your fanfic the best thing ever written. Apparently a critique that has anything slightly negative is a "super special opinion." Everyone, gather around and praise at your feet! You deserve only adoration! God god, get a fucking grip.

Hey I don't want "this is the best thing ever written" I just want someone who isn't an abrasive ass and then thinks that I have to agree.

There's a difference between someone who gives a fair balanced critique saying "hey this could be good, but this needs work" and someone who marches in and goes "HEY I don't know what the fuck you're writing about, but let me tell you how much it sucks".

Also for the record , some of the best critiques ever gotten encouraged me to do research on the subject and get a second opinion.

Alright, sorry for snapping at you before, I got really pissed thinking everyone here wants perfect reviews. When I think of critique, I'm thinking of the first thing you described, you know something balanced. The second thing you described with the abrasive ass is something I'd call a flame or a troll, I wouldn't call that critique.

Ah okay. I've just run into some people who had that sort of approach to reviewing with emphasis on "this suuuuucks."

I like critique, but I like it to be helpful, and useful to me. Also I tend to believe that tact and manner are important. For critique or anything else, you shouldn't expect people to be happy with you if you're nothing but rude, real life, or not. I've seen way too many 'critics' who seem to think that saying they're a critic gives them a rudeness immunity. And then they're surprised when people don't take well to them.
