I feel awful

So I just found out on FB that a fandom friend (i.e. someone I have no RL contact with) has had cancer. I had... no idea. Based on what she said and her comments, other people DID know, so my guess is it was stupid FB hiding updates.

Not looking for advice, just needed somewhere to... be in disbelief, I guess?

From the sounds of it she's going to be fine, thank goodness. I just can't believe I didn't know. :(

OP - I don't see ANYTHING on her feed about it, so now I am guessing she's kept it under wraps. (That I can understand.) So... not really false alarm as I still wish I'd known, but it doesn't look like I've been missing all these posts about it.

It's not a reflection on you, especially since it sounds like she wasn't advertising it online so how would you know? It's very possible to just not know :) She probably mentioned it to the people who did know via different platforms.

AYRT - Yeah, I found out that's how it was, she'd talked a bit about it on a forum we both go to but I hadn't been following that particular thread.
