neighbor dispute

Ugh I just called a noise complaint on my neighbors. I feel like a dick but I was cool with it until I went to go to bed around 2am and shut my window and suddenly music got louder and bass shook my wall. I'm not on friendly terms with them.

Don't feel bad about it, especially if you have quiet hours in your area or building. Where I am, it's against the law to create a noise disturbance after 10pm.

And bass shaking your walls DEFINITELY is a noise disturbance.

Not everyone in a building is going to be the best of friends. If they aren't giving you the decent human respect of allowing you to sleep, heck with 'em.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. I've done that when upstairs neighbors started blaring music, and talking loudly enough about their sex lives that I could hear every word at 3 am.

Just...don't expect the police to actually do anything. More often than not they don't even bother to show up because they have other shit to do.
