14. This is probably pretentious coming from someone who geeked over Chopin after playing Eternal Sonata, but Sand/Chopin/Liszt? FUCK YEAH!

Sand would top them both and then write a book about it. XD;

22. I think Amano is a talented illustrator with his own unique sense of style, but boy, do I hate his artwork.

I know that she had written Lucrezia Floriani, which made Chopin all D:<, but I've been too busy trying to find an English translation to look through Liszt's stuff yet. But wow, that description of Liszt's book is totally magical. I'll have to look into it.

Despite that, I'm tempted to read it now. :P

I think being incredibly verbose is just part of the territory when it comes to writers from that time period. It might be nice to go through it and read about Chopin from the perspective of someone who knew him personally. I'm intrigued, at least.

The part about Poland does not surprise me at all. XD; But I like hearing about Chopin's awesomeness.

Ugh, I want to play Eternal Sonata like BURNING. (My love for Tri-Ace - or Tri-Crescendo, whatever, and my love for Chopin combined! The price tag on the PS3 scares me a bit, but it's only a matter of time...)

She so would.

22. I kind of like Amano because he's different. What gets me, though, is that the kind of illustrations he does can never be carried over to graphics in-game. It's kind of jarring to have the image of the characters on screen and then see his art, which is what always bugged me about his work.

The price on an Xbox 360 isn't nearly as bad as the price on the PS3, and Eternal Sonata is (woefully) short enough that it could be beaten by going over to a friend's house a number of times. It's got some neat cliff's notes-esque summaries about Chopin's life (and how it affects the game itself) strewn throughout, but I don't think they touch upon certain things nearly enough. They even left him without his white gloves. D:

An after skimming through more comments, I realized that Delacroix would probably paint them all afterwards. Huzzah, history.

22. I agree with you there. His illustrations are so colorful and freeform that they'd probably only now be able to translate his art into a game world (on next gen systems). If they were able to do that, the game itself would probably look like a less-refined Okami. I appreciate his talent for conceiving characters, but I think linear art is much better suited for video game design.

Ah, I'm going to break down and get a PS3 for Star Ocean 4 and Devil May Cry 4 anyway. :P But short? That's too bad. Ah well, I'm not expecting brilliant historical accuracy out of an RPG, just good fun. ^^

22. Looking at his art for the SNES and earlier-era games especially always makes me do a double-take. They don't look anything like that! They look like, well... see icon. XD

With the newest generation of consoles, though, I hope more developers follow in the footsteps of stuff like Okami, Odin Sphere and Shadow of the Colossus and really push the visuals.
