Anora from Dragon Age: Origins.

I'd hate to be her friend but I love that she exists. Morality aside, and whether you opt to crown her or not, she's clearly made out to be the most capable and best fit for the job of running Ferelden in the game (and she knows it, while Alistair sits around going I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO HALP HOW DOES POLITICS) and I love that she can be that without needing to be sympathetic or tragic or woobiefied in some other way.

I love Anora too!! She was clearly the best choice to rule. She had so much shit thrown at her, it used to infuriate me. Just because she doesn't fall over herself to worship your precious character doesn't mean she's a 'bitch'. And don't get me STARTED on the whole "Awhora" nickname. Gross.

I actually liked that she was so upfront and businesslike about the marriage deal. Whatever, she didn't have to like you, she definitely wasn't going to sleep with you (lol - or well, beyond marriage duties and heirs I guess), here is what she had to offer and marriage would be the easiest way for everyone so why not go ahead with it? She has to marry someone to be Queen? Well she'll marry someone then, FINE. They avoided all the stupid "ooh seduces you so sexily ooh" tropes and just made her literally a lawful evil (and effective) politician and it was great.

Anora is awesome. I always make her queen and let Alistair stay as a Grey Warden - seems like the best fit for everyone.
