I really don't know how to deal with this. Elizabeth was a friend back in my old Sonic fandom days. We never really stayed in touch after our circle fell apart, largely due to her reclusiveness, but she was always sweet to me when a lot of the "cool kids" weren't.

This pretty much redefines fucked up for me; in all my life I don't think I've ever known someone who'd been murdered. Let alone like this.

I don't know what to do.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. Perhaps look into counseling if you have the resources for it? I don't have much specific advice I can give to cope since I've never known anyone who was murdered, but I do know really unexpected deaths can be a shock to deal with.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'm not sure what to say, but I am sorry. That really sucks. :/

I'm so sorry. And yes, as someone else said, maybe look into talking to a counselor or someone? Anyone would be shaken up.

I'm sorry, I hope you find a way work through it.

Been there and it sucks. Not someone I was very close to, mind, but he was a cook at a bar I used to frequent, and of course I got to know the guy and look forward to talking to him whenever I went. Our circles crossed too, so having someone to talk to wasn't difficult. It helped a lot, so I hope you can unload some of this on someone you know, or even a grief help line. It's not for everyone ofc, but I have found that talking aloud and being heard certainly grounds mixed feelings (among with the could haves and should haves).

Eta: also *hugs*

I don't even know what to say, but that's horrific. What a damn travesty.

I've never known anyone who was murdered, but...knowing that someone you used to care for is gone, even if you weren't close with them anymore, is such a devastating, empty sadness (made worse I imagine, considering the violent circumstances). So I'm sorry for everyone involved, and I hope you'll be okay.

Holy shit, I'm so sorry.

I'm not sure there IS any normal way to deal with an incident like that. It's anything but normal. And it's completely baffling.

Man, I'm so sorry. I mean, the obvious suggestion is counselling, but you already knew that.

It sounds like Elizabeth was a sweet person. She didn't deserve that.

That's heavy, man. Sounds like it might have been a DV sitch, reading between the lines? Not much you can do/could have don, IMO. I'm sorry for your loss is a trite thing to say, I know it, but, yeah. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry that this is something you've had to experience :C

I guess first things is it's going to take awhile to fade? If it's something you're inclined to do, I found tracking the news articles and (when the murderers were found) tracking the court case. It's a frustratingly long process.

You might get angry a lot?

Does the rest of the old circle know? You might want to think about letting them know. It could be helpful to have people to talk about her with.

Sometimes it doesn't feel real for awhile. :( I'm sorry this has happened.

Obviously a friend/coworker of mine was murdered. I was an angry-hollow person for a couple of weeks.

Related, also not trying to one-up you but the horrible coincidence of it, some friends of mine lost their friend to random stabbing this week. They're still very angry and upset.

Yeah, pretty much almost everyone knows at this point, it was announced on the fb group we're in. I talked to my best friend (also part of that circle) about it too.

The thing is, I didn't know her THAT well -- she was part of the "cool kids" and I was one of the losers, but she was sweet to me and we talked a bit. But still, this is one of our own, and it's someone who'd never had an unkind thing to say about anybody even when we were all a bunch of dumbass self-absorbed teenagers. She deserved better.

Man that sucks so much, I'm so sorry. I've known two people who were murdered, and honestly I do not think you really ever get used to it (or should). If you feel like you need to talk to someone, please do. Even if you weren't close, you might need closure, and your grief can be vyry real.

I'm sorry, man, this is awful.

...That's really weird considering someone I worked with was murdered (domestic dispute gone wrong) the day before yesterday.

Not trying to one-up you or anything that's just a hell of a coincidence.

Well this was technically a month ago, I only just found out about it this morning.

Man, that's unfortunate and scary. I hope you and the rest of the circle can find some means of support.
