Elisa Maza will always be amazing to me. She's confident and well-respected in her profession. She manages to handle herself gracefully in all these strange situations she finds herself in. I like that she doesn't have all the answers and doesn't always know what to do.

Though I don't love them quite so well, most of the other women in the series were equally engaging and interesting.

Elisa influenced my idea of a good starring female character - especially a good non-white female character - so much when I was growing up, probably more than I realize.
