I'm fine with it being released as a print. It really doesn't go with the Babs Tarr Batgirl though.

And Alan Moore is still a pretentious load.

Actually, I've heard that Alan meant it to be a "possible future" and it was Kim Yale and John Ostrander who ran with it as new backstory for Barbara, creating Oracle. So I guess it could have disappeared as a ridiculous, out-of-continuity piece of the 1980's if not for them. Huh.

Bit of a shame that Babs got crippled per AKJ, but the Joker didn't get deaded.

Nope. Alan Moore meant for it to be an elseworlds, DC decided that Barbara had been paralized by the joker and Killing Joke WAS canon, and then Ostrander and Yale took what they had to make Oracle.

If not for them? Barbara would've dissapeared, being remembered only as 'that chick the Joker shot'

God bless those two, they really saved the character.

"Sure, cripple the bitch." The mind recoils. Let alone what DC did to Jason Todd that same year!

That was Len, wasn't it? What an ass.

I have heard that reducing Barbara to that was in line with what certain staff at DC wanted--Len Wein & Denny O'Neil? I don't know.

And I've heard that there was a Batgirl revival planned that got scrapped because of the Oracle storyline in Manhunter and Suicide Squad.

So I don't know.
