The main reason why people on Tumblr were critical of it wasn't because it depicted anything resembling "rape" or anything like that.

It was because it depicted its heroine threatened, cowering in fear and crying.
Would they ever make a cover with Batman or another male character like that? No.
It's just kind of a shitty double standard.

Nah, I don't find any of those to be on the same level. He looks angry in pretty much all of them (lol the one where his giant crotch is trying to bulge free of the chains), not scared and certainly not crying.
