Pleasant Surprises?

They released a trailer for Slow West yesterday. It is a western starring Michael Fassbender. I knew it was filming but did not realize was completed. So that was a nice surprise. Even nicer is that I learned it will be released on Video-On-Demand on May 15th! Awesome for me because I doubt my local theater would have it.

What are some pleasant surprises you have experienced recently?

I got a reply from an actor from my small fandom this morning. That makes twice! He's super sweet and is pretty good at responding to people, so it may seem kind of silly, but I've been in a state of elation all day.

But Slow West! I'll have to watch it! I love Westerns and Fassbender. I'm waiting on Tresspass Against Us and Macbeth because it's two new movies he'll be in with Sean Harris, making four total. Why are his stuff taking forever to come out, ugh.

I am glad he is going to be in so many movies. I am so excited to see them all. :D I hope he does another one with Steve McQueen.

I was going to buy a ticket to LibertyCon no matter what (a small Sci-Fi/Fantasy con with a strong science track) and found they were only 40$ for the whole weekend! Leaves money saved to buy other things 8D

The last small con I went to was 60, and I was looking at DragonCon which is more than 100. Every little bit counts, lol!

I got to see a friend today who I didn't know was even in town - one of my best friends; we had lunch at my apartment before she drove back to where she lives. Last week I dropped in on my old workplace and saw an old manager who is another good friend who I hadn't been able to contact because her number was wrong. Didn't know she'd be there so that was an awesome surprise. On Monday a friend (the guy I have a crush on, sort of? not really anymore but we're friends and we flirt sometimes which is fun and I kinda like it that way) came to find me and suggested we grab dinner on our breaks together. then I got to see him again after work because I ended up staying an hour (he usually leaves an hour after me) to help my team catch up. It really brightened my day.

Yay for unexpected/short-notice interactions with friends!

That is great. I live too far away to see any of my friends. But I love seeing them when I go back home.

My best friends both live out of town (and in opposite directions, yay) but I'm working on making more friends here. I didn't leave, actually, I'm living in the city I grew up in, but they left! XD
