I thought that episode was so OTT it was ludicrous and couldn't believe this was a series everybody was raving about.

The sex with a pig part and the reveal about it being performance art may have been ludicrous, but that wasn't the point of the episode. It was about technology and social media and how much those things have irrevocably changed how information is transmitted. It's also about viral messages and peoples' reaction to them, including things that are so disturbing nobody in their right minds would want to watch it... and yet people can't seem to help themselves.

All of that was chillingly realistic and 100% on point. You got distracted by the least important aspect of the plot.
