Suggestion: If you don't want to tell them about your past experiences, you could always just say you have friends who have been on Adderall and that they've talked to you about how it works for them. This really isn't that unusual, especially if you have any health issues of your own; I know literally dozens of side effects to various medications I've never taken because of friends who have been on them.
