White-knighters are the future social workers we're going to have to deal with. If that thought doesn't absolutely TERRIFY every actual PWD, you're not paying attention.

I have spent so much time educating my support workers. I dread when each one moves on, and I get a new one because I know I'm going to have to knock all the white-knighting college shit out of them and get them to deal with reality. I like the good ideas in principle, but gods damn does no one teach that sometimes you have to deal with the world you live in and not the one you want to live in?

Social worker here who is perfectly capable of treating PWD as regular human beings and listening to what they have to say, thanks. Partly because I'm a parent of a PWaD myself. Try not to tar an entire profession with the same brush, thanks.
