b!s: I never watched the new season. I read about some of the arcs and thought they handled it poorly :(

Well, I watch it out of order. S8 is too different from early seasons. Too much het, not enough angst, idk. Thought I appreciate that they developed the characters and din't just do same old from season to season, as if stagnant lives are possible in the real world. Anyway, I returned to earlier seasons for a while. Maybe S7 will explain this shift in dynamics and what is the deal with that church in Italy that Heightaway supposidely visited.
The fic sounds fun. I haven't read any fic yet, mostly because I don't have questions about the characters and am unsure about slash potential and haven't finished watching the series, so I don't feel the void left by the absence of new eps.
