What's a nickname of yours? Or a favorite nickname of yours?

My user name is my actual nickname. Though some of my relative just call me Mekki.

Ash and Kaijin. Also I went by my last name is school because A) My first name was so common B) Several of my teachers had had my older siblings and I was sick of being called by their names by accident.

My mom calls me "leens" which is sort of a morph from angel -> angeleeni -> leens, leeners. I think it's super cute haha.
Also when I studied abroad in Argentina I took a class with locals and they all called me "Massachusetts." I loved it I was so proud!

In my embarrassing otaku days my two best friends and I all picked Japanese names. They kept changing theirs as they changed favorite characters but I was always Keiko.

When you said name day I thought this was going to be a Game of Thrones/ASoIaF thread.

A shortened version of one of my internet nicknames. I met a good part of my friends over a website and they obviously only knew my nickname in the beginning and the shortened version kind of stuck? It's kind of weird and took me some time to get used to, actually. Especially since my best friend also uses that nickname when referring to me in that group and that was... really strange at first.

People like to call me Stace (short for Stacy). Only thing is I hate it--which is because my mum hated it and never let people call me that. But I have gotten to the point where I just don't bother correcting people anymore, I can't be arsed. Though when certain people use it, it grates more than others (I'm looking at you, boss lady #1).

My grandmother used to call me Leander (for my middle names) and she was the only one who did so...I didn't mind, she was my grammie.

Online, people shorten slashgirl to slash, which I'm fine with, though I find people calling me that odd, since I chose it as a username...I don't think of it as a nickname.

...I don't have one that wouldn't make my real name obvious.

A friend calls me 'dear' on occasion, and one classmate in hs called me porcelain (yes, I'm pale), so those will have to be good enough.

I like elam online, though. (Or...what did that one anon think my name should be? I would be fine with that name, too.)

Mother Superior seems to be a name people choose for me. Or the Nun.

My boyfriend calls me Sparky and I much prefer that.

Iron Mike. New nickname given by lads at work. Hope it sticks with me. Probably wont.

I used to be called Dracula before years of orthodontia bullied my canines into line. I kind of miss it--I'm huge, I'm pale, I'm hairy, and I have a widow's peak, so why not go all the way?

I hate all the normal nicknames for my name. Sometimes I get called "R." by my friends, which is fairly recent. I sign a lot of my emails "R." and all my artwork/fiction as "R.C. Lastname" or just "RCT" I'm not sure if I would use my full name or R.C. Lastname if I published academically.

My main nickname is just a romanized version of my Hebrew name. And as about as unusual.

My other nickname is "lemony sprite" because my mother threatened to name me that if she didn't get a "lemony-lime sprite" to drink while in labor with me. Which was just a scare tactic to talk my father into naming me some super obscure Hebrew name instead of his pick, Nikki (yeah, after the Prince song).

Ali Baba, though I kinda hate it due to everyone teasing me with it when I was younger.

Pretty much everyone calls me a short version of my first name, although saying what it is would make my name obvious.

And there's someone that used to call me a variation of my middle name, but they're not in my life now, so no one calls me that anymore.

Uh... well.... uh... Nonny is the name I go by IRL and will eventually be my legal name as I've gone by it since I was 17 and am now 30. And yes, it did come from "anonymous" when I wanted to post on a writing forum I lurked on; I didn't expect to stay. I poked my head into their chat room, and ended up sticking around. Considering I met *thinks* my ex-fiance, my ex-bf&gf, another ex-gf, and my ex-married partner of 10 yrs there... yeah. It stuck. At this point, it would just be too weird to pick a different name, because it's become so much of my identity.

Besides which, I've wanted to change my name ever since I found out the history of where my name came from. ~Story Time~ So, my parents had a sailboat and were out on the docks when they came across another person caring for his boat, which was named after a woman. They really liked the name. Except... the boat was named after his wife, who he was in the process of divorcing, because she had cheated on him. So not only did they name me after a boat, they named me after a boat who was named after a cheating wife.

Yeah. I found that out around 15 and decided on the spot I'd be changing my name later. Mom at least is like, "Yeah, we probably deserve that." Yes, Mom and Dad, yes you do.

I'm sometimes called "Forgeddy Lee" because I like Rush and I have a shitty memory.
