I don't think I'd name my kids after the characters themselves, except in a couple of cases, but there have been names I've come across through fiction that I've liked enough to think about calling a kid that.

Names from fiction I like: Laudine (Arthurian Myth), Mercy (DCU), Evelyn (The Mummy), Jonathan (The Mummy), Nathan (Magnificent 7), Nathaniel (War of the Worlds) ...

Yes, I tend to like variations on a theme of 'nathan' for boys, I just like the sound of it. I probably wouldn't call all three of my sons a variation each. Probably.

I WOULD TOTALLY NAME A GIRL EVELYN. EVY (Evee?) WOULD FIT THE MUMMY AND POKEMON AS COME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS WITHOUT BEING GLARINGLY OBVIOUS.
