I don't think so. Veruca...that's a girls name, isn't it? I like it, it's unique! (And strong!)

The only ones I would have to share would be my Dragon Age characters names...and I doubt anyone wants to hear all of those. (My favorites are Allaesa, Naladrie, Namir, Natia and Emil. They are probably odd.)

I would just feel bad if kids googled "Veruca" and started making fun of her because it means wart.

...I did not know that (and, okay, it is a bit unfortunate), but I still think it sounds cool. Kids can be harsh, but they don't really need a reason to be.

It was the name of a spoiled brat character in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but it's also a type of wart. Good enough reasons to avoid it, IMO.

Ngl, I can see why OP might avoid it, but I have an easy time disassociating names from these things. They always sound different to me depending on the person.
