wait, there are A LOT of queer people who don't believe in /will mock the very idea of asexuality. There are also queer groups who don't have an opinion about asexuality, but prefer reading the "A" as "allies". You are not the representative of THE QUEER MOVEMENT because there is no such thing.

ALso, I'd really like to see an example of someone doing all kinds of 'ist stuff in the name of being an ally. How does that even work? How can you be an ally to a cause and be in the enemy camp at the same time? I've seen more, say, misogyny from actual gay people than from heterosexual men in the ally camp.

what's even your point w/that first paragraph? the classification of asexuality is an intra-community issue. if a queer person wants to read the "A" as "allies" then that's their business, but it's not up to straight cis people to decide what counts as queer. if a straight ally has such strong opinions about the A standing for allies that they get angry at you for suggesting that it instead stands for asexuality, so angry that they'll threaten to permanently withdraw their support for THE QUEER MOVEMENT, then they're probably not a very good ally.

but if a queer person "tells" a straight ally that "a is for asexual, not for allies" and that straight ally has actually heard another queer person tell them differently, I think it's pretty okay for them to disagree based on experience, because at this point all the queer person is doing is assume one of many positions of a heterogenous movement, while (deliberately or not) ignoring all the other positions as someone claiming to present the movement.
Getting butthurt I also kinda understand. Suddenly being told "no, this is actually not about you" when they'd started to identify with the movement (which allies do, in any movement, if you want it or not) is kinda hard on just about anyone. Especially if someone told them otherwise, previously.

No, that doesn't justify their being in asshole in the cases anon claims to have seen so many of. I can totally see anon being an asshole in their own right, though, so maybe all these cases are based in mutual assholery.
