IDK. And considering that idioticonion wrote about 150 HIMYM fics with everything from goopy shippy fluff to hardcore non-con darkfic to super-serious edgy stuff, with all kinds of pairings, I have no idea what use having sockpuppets would have...

"Ruling" with help of sockpuppets suggests someone who ran/moderated a big community. Backing up their actions as moderator with adoring sockpuppets supporting their every move.

And/or someone with delusions of grandeur.

IDK the show's fandom so I've no idea if that describes any of its BNFs.
