I totally agree.

This is one of the reasons I love Final Fantasy X-2. I like investing myself in a complex story or character, but at the end of the day, all I really ask of entertainment is for me to be entertained. If that's achieved, then I'm golden!

Not all of mine are, but most are. My Sims tend to be fandom Sims, so I pair all my favorite couples together; a lot of those happen to be same sex pairings.

Anyway, it's always nice to have the option to marry in a game, even more-so when you can gay marry as well, so I understand your joy.

OP, are you talking about your fandom in particular (if you, good for you!) or just fandom in general?
Because for fandom in general this is simply not true, most places people are as terrible on the issue of what makes one a real fan as they've always been.
Maybe it's been blissfully outside of your loop, but there's a few of those people still ruining things for people everywhere.

Text: I sometimes fantasize about being a contestant on these shows.
(Under the Whose Line logo): I feel like I'd do really well at Props, Scenes from a Hat, and Foreign Film Dub.
(Under the QI Logo): I'm a font of useless information anyway, so my goal would be to not trigger the alarm at any point.
But even when I'm daydreaming, I can never shake off the fact that I'm neither famous nor a comedian, and thus could never qualify to be on either show.
Sometimes I wish I didn't have such a realist streak. I just want to pretend I'm capable of being creatively silly!

Text: I love reading others’ comments on ao3 and checking which timezone people live in/comment from. And when I read multichapter fics, it’s always neat to start recognizing people (“oh that girl from *insert timezone* commented!”).

I can’t help but feel this is odd and creepy. :( (Especially because I don’t interact much with fandom apart from commenting…) It’s not like I consciously keep track at least!

I get extra excited when I see someone else from my own timezone commenting. :) (One of the ones pictured here!)
