Text: I love reading others’ comments on ao3 and checking which timezone people live in/comment from. And when I read multichapter fics, it’s always neat to start recognizing people (“oh that girl from *insert timezone* commented!”).

I can’t help but feel this is odd and creepy. :( (Especially because I don’t interact much with fandom apart from commenting…) It’s not like I consciously keep track at least!

I get extra excited when I see someone else from my own timezone commenting. :) (One of the ones pictured here!)

I don't think it's creepy. It's like noticing someone on your commute route likes the same kind of shoes or books or dresses in a way that you think is neat. So long as you're actively stalking people, just *noticing* things is not a big deal.

It's sort of neat, but I do hzve to tell you m hours of posting have very little to do with my timezone. That being said, i think I'd be cool with other commenters on AO3 interacting with me.

That consistent time zone stuff makes me think they might have their shit together more than me, who is around even during the witching hour because having no control is my MOD. Like, "Wow that dude probably schedules when he has a break for fun online. What discipline!"

I don't think it's odd or creepy.

It would just give you the general area of the server their internet provider uses. If you're not doing anything with the information, it's just you noticing it. Not that I could really think of anything you really do with it.

Maybe I should start paying attention to time zones. It seems like the majority of my fandom is asleep while I'm awake.
