Thanks for erasing female TG fans. Pretty douchey of you. And by the way, some fans realize there's no excuse for Jeremy's behavior. It's why some of us are genuinely heartbroken. We've seen someone fall to pieces and hurt someone they worked with for years. It's affected hundreds of people, livelihood-wise. It's not the end of the world, but it's heartbreaking to see it happen.

Some people can. I personally am not a fan of his, I'm more a fan of the other two. (Not that they're perfect either, but they're just not focused on in the media as much.) It's still awful to see someone who had done a lot of work with one group of people for years and years self-destruct. The consensus amongst fans I know is this: we sort of figured the show might end in the next year. But it's a shame it had to go out this way. The lack of closure is painful.

Maybe it's not a self destraction per se but a one time thing? JC has friends and family, he'd be alright.

You make it sound as if he had some kind of breakdown. He didn't,he committed a crime of his own free will because he had a tantrum. Not really helping the image of Top Gear fans.

I'm another female fan of the show. It was "lovely" fun to see a certain feminist mocking female shippers of the show while this was all going down and we waited to hear the upshot. Fans of the show are gettin' it from all sides lately. The whole thing is a mess, but wow. The gloating! The fic mocking! The fan mocking! So classy.
