Anachronox was only half a game. It was a lovely game, but it was only half, and it will never be finished because Ion Storm Dallas was shuttered following Daikatana's colossal failure.

And that makes me sadder than anything.

Did you know it was only half a game when you started playing?

Yeah, but I wanted to play it because it was a Tom Hall game and I liked the look of it.

I remember seeing an ad for it on the back of my jewel case for Deus Ex and I'd always wanted to play it. I tracked down a copy years back and it was lovely but I wasn't expecting to be that disappointed by the unfinished ending. At the time there was a possibility it might still get a sequel, too, but the longer we go without one the less I hope of it materializing.
