(Anonymous) 2015-04-01 03:44 am (UTC)(link)For one person, it's not too bad - for a whole family? Speaking from experience [my grandmother never used her dishwasher, and by the time I lived with her it might not even have been working] it can lead to really painful cracking on your hands.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-01 04:00 am (UTC)(link)I can only wash dishes by hand if I were gloves, otherwise, even 15 minutes with the most gentle "aloe vera"'ed and what-not watered-down dishwasher will split my skin open D:

(Anonymous) 2015-04-01 04:10 am (UTC)(link)Yeah, I couldn't really do that because by the time I got to the dishes [between living on a farm and going to college full time there just wasn't time during the day] I was having to multi-task enough that it just never seemed to work out.
Being gloves would be pretty handy sometimes, wouldn't it? :P

Also, more than half of the time used in Cooking and Baking is just washing everything you dirtied up. They sure don't mention that on cooking magazines and TV shows...
